Wednesday, 7 PM—Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts followed by a Lenten meal with religious reading and discussion. Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts will be offered most Wednesdays during Lent at 7 PM. Check the monthly calendars.
Saturday is the feast of the Annunciation. Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts will also be offered Friday evening this week at 7 PM. Divine Liturgy for the feast is Saturday at 10 AM.
At least part of the elementary (i.e., Ms. Erin’s) Church School class today will be Fr. Dennis going over confession with those preparing to make their first confession this Lent.
Confessions are usually heard after Vespers on Saturday evenings. During Lent, confessions can also be heard before and after Lenten services—after is usually better, but check with Fr. Dennis.
There is no instruction class Saturday, and he Friday online sessions are on hold. Catechetical materials are offered freely to those seeking instruction in the Orthodox faith. The two books by Ware are now in both for those in instruction (see Fr. Dennis) and for sale in the bookstore otherwise. We currently need to restock v. 1 of the Hopko set—we’ll have them soon!
Holy Water is available for you to take for your use in the home.
Pledge cards for your financial support of St. Catherine’s in 2023 are still available on the candle stand in the rear of church and in the hall. Thanks to those who have pledged their support for the ongoing regular operation of the parish this year! See Fr. Dennis or our treasurer, Daria Riegler, if you would still like to pledge.

I just received word of the falling asleep in the Lord of the father of Ginny (Eugenia) Anderson, Ihor, just yesterday. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday at 1 PM at Jefferson Chapel in Ranson, WV. This past Wednesday was the one year annjversary of the falling asleep in the Lord of Protodeacon Sergius Miller of St. Matthew’s in Columbia, MD. Please also remember in your prayers for the departed the grandmother of Alla Douglas, Anastasia, Fr. Daniel Rentel of Columbus, Ohio, who brought Fr. Dennis and Diane into the Church; the cousin of John Outen, Allen, who died suddenly in S. Carolina; His Grace, Tikhon, retired bishop of San Francisco and the West; Frs. Eugene Tarris, Sergius Kuharsky and Theodore Panchak; Metropolitan Herman; Philip Dorosh; Gene Aleshin; the mother of Jon Metcalf, Marjorie; Archbishop Paul of Chicago; the father of Paul Koch, John; the brother of Natalia Terina, Nicholas, and her mother Albina; Ann Anderson, Mike Castelgrande; those who have perished in war, persecution or terrorism in the Middle East, Ukraine, here, and elsewhere; and from storms, flood, fire, earthquake and from disease here and elsewhere. May their memory be eternal!
