Today is the 15th Sunday after Pentecost. Tone 6. Postfeast of and Sunday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Today we also commemorate the Martyr Sophia and her Three Daughters, Faith, Hope and Charity (Gr: Pistis, Elpis, Agape; Slav: Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov).
TROPARIA, (T. 6)—The Angelic Powers were at Thy tomb;/the guards became as dead men./Mary stood by Thy grave,/seeking Thy most pure body./Thou didst capture hell not being tempted by it./Thou didst come to the Virgin, granting life./O Lord, Who didst rise from the dead, glory to Thee.
(Cross, T. 1)—O Lord, save Thy people,/ and bless Thine inheritance./ Grant victory to the Orthodox Christians/ over their adversaries,/ and by virtue of Thy Cross,/ preserve Thy habitation.
(St. Catherine, T. 5)—Let us sing the praise of the renowned Bride of Christ, Catherine, the divine protectress of Sinai, our help and our succor; for she has brilliantly silenced the refinements of the impious by the power of the Spirit; and since she has been crowned as a witness of the Lord, she craves for all the great mercy.
(Saints, T.5)—You blossomed in the courts of the Lord/ as a fruitful olive tree,/ O holy martyr Sophia;/ in your contest you offered to Christ the sweet fruit of your womb,/ you daughters Faith, Hope and Love./ Together with them intercede for us all.
KONTAKIA, (T. 6)—When Christ God, the Giver of Life,/ raised all of the dead from the valleys of misery with His mighty hand,/ He bestowed resurrection on the human race./ He is the Savior of all, the Resurrection, the Life, and the God of all.
(St. Catherine, T. 2)—Let all of us who love to honor the martyrs/ form a great choir in praise of the most-wise Catherine;/ for she preached Christ and trampled the serpent,/ despising the knowledge of the orators.
Glory…
(Saints, T. 1)—The holy branches of noble Sophia,/ Faith, Hope and Love,/ confounded Greek sophistry through grace./ Threy struggled and won the victory/ and have been granted an incorruptible crown by Christ the Master of all.
Now and ever…
(Cross, T. 4)—A Thou wast voluntarily crucified for our sake,/ grant victory to those who are called by Thy Name./ Make all Orthodox Christians glad by Thy power,/ granting them victory over their adversaries,/ by bestowing on them the invincible trophy, Thy weapon of peace.
IN PLACE OF THE TRISAGION—For Baptism: As many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ, Alleluia! For Exaltation of the Cross: Before Thy Cross, we bow down in worship, O Master, and Thy holy Resurrection we glorify.
PROKEIMENON, (Cross, T. 7, Ps. 98)—Extol the Lord our God! Worship at His footstool for it is holy.
EPISTLE: Galatians 2:16-20; II Corinthians 4:6-15; Romans 6:3-11

Now at its elevation, as we bow down in worship before it, we magnify you.
