Church family gives Church a face lift one project at a time

As with every building there is a continuous array of projects to keep parishioners busy.  It seems that every few years God brings us a skilled builder/contractor parishioner who willingly works as an unpaid contractor during their time at the church.  This project manager/general contractor oversees the care of the church by fixing small things, repairing major things and making improvements with the assistance of many willing hands from within the church.  The past few years Oleg Salcutan has been filling this role for us.  With experience in brickwork, and construction, and more, Oleg has helped to make the interior of the church more pleasing to the eye and more stable a structure.  Improvement projects have included such things as work in the basement, in the altar, in the flowerbeds, even the kitchen sink (but we didn't throw it out!) In 2013 the Altar area received a new ceiling and now Oleg is considering how we can improve the rest of the ceiling in the Nave.  Stay tuned for more on that.

Recently completed

Our church finally gets her own onion dome!


     In 2013 we finally removed our flat, faded and damaged wooden sign that had seen better days, about 15 years ago, and replaced it with a new and improved sign that included such features as a lockable letter board, a roof and our own fiberglass Onion Dome.  The design for this sign was created by parishioner, and artist David Heatwole, from Martinsburg, WV.  The sign was assembled by Oleg and David with help from their sons.
